The Pyramid on Elephantine Island

January 30, 2017

My main objective for this trip to Egypt is to visit Elephantine Island on the River Nile to see the ruins of a pyramid only discovered 35 years ago by a German team of archeologists.

This pyramid is no tomb. It is made from granite and was probably a step-pyramid

What is so special about the Elephantine Island Pyramid?

Its southeast edge is directed to exactly that point over the horizon where the star Sirius became visible on Egyptian New Year's Day in the 27th century B.C., when this pyramid is thought to have been built by King Huni, the last king of Dynasty 3 of the Old Kingdom.

But here is the hammer....the Elephantine Pyramid's base dimensions are a scaled down version of the Great Pyramid. Not only that...these dimensions are distinctly astronomic.  They define, in cubits, the time of absence of Sirius in Memphis and on Elephantine Island and they happen to reveal one of the most fundamental geometric relationships known to us....the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter.

This is all explained in detail in the Appendix of my E-book.
